A Picnic Under The Daystar

Hop on the Sunshine Trolley and spend an afternoon with the Daystar: the Sun. The trolley departs the Visitor Information Centre at 12:30pm and rides out to the Eagle Butte Observatory, where a catered picnic by Station Coffee Company is waiting — fresh in-house baked sandwiches, cookies, watermelon cups and beverages. Amateur astronomer Rod DeVries leads an interactive presentation about the sun using playdough, eclipse glasses and prisms, and guests get to view the sun through a special solar telescope. The tour runs about two hours and is built for the whole family.
